Introducing the Viper Top!

The elevated tank top for cool girls.

What is the Viper Top?

The Viper Top is my very first knit fabric pattern 🥹 I created this top after only having made one single garment with stretch fabric prior, so I can safely assure you that this pattern is beginner friendly!

I wanted to make something that felt like an elevated basic. Wearing the Viper Top feels like wearing any other comfy tank, but the asymmetrical neckline and dramatic shoulder ties give her that little extra va va voom.

What makes it special?

  • Beginner-friendly construction: No tricky fastenings + plenty of support for figuring out any fiddly bits.

  • Multiple length options: Make it longline, mid length or cropped. Or all of the above!

  • In-built bralette: Add the option in-built bralette for extra support

What you'll need:

✔ Light to midweight knit fabric (cotton/spandex, rayon/elastane, etc)

✔ 1cm elastic (for the built-in bralette)

✔ A safety pin for threading the elastic

Who's it for?

This pattern is suitable for adventurous beginners. There are no tricky techniques used in the construction. For many testers, the Viper Top was their first foray into stretch fabrics. In fact, my second time every sewing with stretch fabric was my first time sampling the Viper Top. So if I can make it, you can make it too!

This was my first time sewing knits in 6 years and it was such a breeze to sew! I would definitely recommend this to my friends and will probably make some as gifts.

Great pattern for people to try using stretch fabric for the first time, and offering a way for people to up skill. Or if people are more experienced it’s an easy one to make when time is short, or you want to use up fabric remnants.
